Other than completing not one but two full length first drafts in 2022, and keeping a marriage alive for 10 years, I would say my home water births are my biggest and best accomplishments. I could literally write a book about it, and I probably will!
Anything I still have from my childhood, especially my original baby blanket.
Oh, boy, there are so many! But for the sake of time and webspace I'll just say I cannot and will never like mushrooms or seafood.
TOLKIEN. Need I say more? But I will: His ability to weave a great story is insane! How can you not picture the Shire, or the comical and endearing hobbits? It's impossible not to love all the characters and feel the adventure for yourself when you read his work. I could never write fantasy because I could never write it the way it deserves!
Piers Anthony, as well. He's an eclectic one, I daresay, but he's an awesome writer with some of the best humor I've ever read, and he's one heck of a friendly person! I was honored to chat back and forth with him for a while, and he was kind enough to send me a signed bookplate to put into one of my favorite books, Dream A Little Dream!
Also, Debbie Henderson. She is my mother but I am not biased at all. She can do just about everything - write, sew, draw, paint, carve, crochet, cook, and even train horses, and she's literally the only reason I have an ounce of talent in me!
If you mean what puts me in the writing mood, that would be stuff like watching a good franchise like LOTR, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and even Twilight. Thinking fantastically always gives me the itch to put pen to paper.
If you mean what gives me ideas, that is another question...
Well, on the surface I have always wanted someone to adore my books the way I adore so many others. If I can touch even just one person with my story, I know that will be a great feeling worth waiting for. But at the heart of it all is a desire to give people a dose of positivity and shine as much of Jesus' light as I can. There are so many books on shelves today that are really well written and fit perfectly into the mainstream, but their content fails to inspire healthy emotions, relationships or realities in teens and young adults in particular. It's my ultimate goal to provide books that do.
